Scenario
Junos is two-mode by design: - Operational mode — what you land in when you SSH in. Prompt is root@hostname>. Read state, ping, traceroute. - Configuration mode — entered with configure. Prompt becomes [edit]\nroot@hostname#. Stage set / delete lines in a candidate, then commit to apply. This lab stays in op-mode. You'll get to configure / commit in later labs. The router jnx1 is pre-loaded with one customer-side port (ge-0/0/0) and a loopback (lo0).

Type
show version. Note the Junos banner — different shape from Cisco'sshow version.Run
