Scenario
A wireless controller carries a *catalogue* of WLAN profiles. Each entry has three things you cannot avoid: a profile name (controller-internal, e.g. corp-wifi), a numeric id (1..512, used in tags), and an over-the-air SSID (the name a phone sees in its Wi-Fi list). A new profile is born shut down — until you flip it on, the radios will not advertise the SSID. Default security is WPA2 with a pre-shared key; you supply the key with security wpa psk ascii STRING. The grammar: `` wlan <name> <id> <ssid> security wpa psk ascii <pre-shared-key> no shutdown ` The first line both creates the entry (if missing) and enters its sub-mode. The sub-mode prompt is (config-wlan)#. exit` returns to global config. NetVerdict note: this lab uses the IOS-XE-shape grammar that the controller vendor adopted for industry-standard SSID provisioning. Other wireless vendors (Aruba, Mist, Extreme) accept different keywords for the same concept; the cross-vendor wireless intent IR translates between them.
