The professional-tier "reliable static routing" surface, end-to-end. A primary default route via INET1 is gated on track 1 (which follows IP SLA 1). A floating default via INET2 sits in the RIB at AD 200 — invisible while the primary wins, but the only candidate when the primary's track flips down. Set IpSla.forcedState: 'up'|'down' on the topology to flip between failover states; show ip route reflects which ISP currently carries the default.

Scenario
A "reliable static" pattern in three pieces: 1. ip sla 1 / icmp-echo 8.8.8.8 — defines a probe. 2. track 1 ip sla 1 reachability — turns the probe outcome into a track object. 3. ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.0.1.2 track 1 — the static is gated on the track. When the track is up, the route is in the FIB (the CE has Internet access via 10.0.1.2). When the track is down, the route is withdrawn. Combined with a backup floating static (separate AD ladder, not yet supported by the simulator's RIB), this gives Cisco's classic dual-ISP failover. The gate itself — install vs withdraw based on track state — is the core mechanism, and that's what this lab walks through. Real Cisco runs the probe on a timer. The simulator skips that complexity and lets the topology pre-set IpSlaIcmpEcho.forcedState: 'up'|'down'. The solver honors forcedState directly when set; the FIB-derived reachability path is preserved when forcedState: null (the default). This gives labs a clean knob to flip between failover states.
